General FAQs

General information

Each piece is made by hand so please expect some slight variation from piece to piece. This is intrinsic to the nature of handmade, artisan jewellery. If you need some advice or assistance with your selection please contact me.

Prices are in Australian Dollars AUD

Gifts

Wrapping

Your piece will come boxed along with a cleaning cloth and care instructions.

Rush Orders

There are some items that can be expedited. Please email your requirements and I will try to accommodate.

Specialised Laser Engraving

You may have up to 4 words engraved inside a band. This will add an additional week to the order and is $100.

My Hand Engraving

I am happy to engrave in block letters free of charge. This will add no time to your order. It is not 'perfect' like laser engraving which I have found many customers prefer!

Sizes

Ring Sizes

I understand that sizing can be difficult. If you are unsure of your size, please order a ring sizer to be mailed to you. Sizes are standardised so you are also able to be sized by any jeweller or please make an appointment to come into the studio.

It is not unusual for your hands to change size over your life.

In most cases, rings can be resized without too much difficulty. Re-sizing fees will apply and will be quoted on a case-by-case basis.

See ring sizing conversion chart here.

Caring for your jewellery

General Care

Ensure that you do not expose your jewellery to chemicals, perfumes or rough conditions as these can damage stones and metal.

Jewellery is not indestructible and must be worn with care. Please contact me with any questions or to have your KV piece polished and checked. I can offer a full cleaning service for a small fee.

About Sterling Silver

The sterling silver alloy will naturally blacken over time with exposure to air. This can be removed by cleaning with your included polishing cloth or silver foam. Rinse well and pat dry with a soft cloth.

About Gold

18ct yellow and white gold is quite stable in its colour and should only require a polish once in a while. Lower carat golds (9ct, 14ct) are alloyed with materials that can oxidise in a similar manner to silver.  This can be removed by cleaning with your included polishing cloth or brought to me for a deeper clean.

Bespoke FAQs

How does bespoke work?

If you admire the style of my work and have a specific design or special stone in mind, I would be delighted to collaborate with you to bring your perfect piece to life. Your input and ideas are incredibly valuable, and together we can create a bespoke creation that reflects your unique style and story.

For a comprehensive look at my bespoke creations, I invite you to explore my Instagram, where you'll find the most extensive collection of my work. To discuss your ideas further and schedule an appointment, please click here. I look forward to the opportunity to create something truly special with you.

What is the bespoke timeline?

Expect the Design and Refine phase to take 4-6 weeks. Once the design is chosen and the deposit paid, your piece will be completed in an additional 6-8 weeks.

What metals do you use?

9ct, 14ct or 18ct gold alloys. I work in yellow, white and rose gold.

Can I use my own heirloom stones?

I find great joy in the idea of breathing new life into sentimental jewellery! Gemstones like diamonds, sapphires, and rubies can often be safely removed and reused in a new piece. However, it's important to note that there is always a risk of damage to the stones during this process, so your comfort with that possibility is essential.

While I don't reuse your metal, we can discuss the option of trading in the material for credit towards your new piece. For heirloom pieces, it's necessary to have them checked by a gemologist to confirm their authenticity before we start the project. I'm happy to organise this process for you to ensure that your sentimental jewellery is handled with care and respect throughout its transformation.

How are bespoke pieces priced?

Creating bespoke pieces involves a range of factors, including the choice of metals, gemstones, and complexity of design. My bespoke service begins at $2500 for pieces crafted in 9ct gold, or $4000 for 18ct gold creations. Wedding bands start at $1800.

For a better idea of pricing, you can explore my online store where indicative prices are listed or make an appointment to chat.

What if my budget does not accommodate the bespoke service?

If your budget doesn't align with the bespoke service, I also offer customisation options for pieces available in my online store. This allows you to personalise jewellery by selecting different stones and metals within your budget.

To explore these options further or discuss your preferences, I encourage you to schedule an appointment to visit my studio or reach out to me directly.
